About Us

 

History/background

We opened our first ebay shop in 2005 in an industrial unit above a bicycle shop in Glastonbury, primarily selling Scalextric to the public at affordable prices. We were able to offer low prices through splitting sets and keeping our overheads as low as possible.

In our 2nd year of trading we won eBay’s award of ‘Fastest Growing UK Business’. Later that same year we took over the whole of the industrial unit and with the extra warehouse space gained, we added the Hornby range of products to our inventory, shortly followed by other brands such as Brio wooden toys & Britains Die cast models.

After trading successfully for 3 years, space was again getting tight as we continued to expand our product base and also our stock holding. We began to search for larger premises and in April of 2008 we moved the business in its entirety to its current home in the cathedral city of Wells in Somerset, the much more modern building enabled us to set our picking and packing operations out in a much more efficient system. Once again we added further products, all brands that are well known with the high quality standards expected by our customers. Airfix, Corgi, Sylvanian Families, Meccano & Playmobil are stocked in large quantities, not just the best sellers but entire ranges. Space was once more becoming hard to find and it was decided that the warehouse had to be extended and work is currently underway to extend it to 6,500 sq ft, completion is due at the end of July 2010. In 2009  we achieved No 1 Status on ebay for Toys and Games sold.

We currently trade on eBay, Amazon and also through our 2 websites, www.jadlamracingmodels.com and www.jadlamracingmodels.co.uk. Very shortly the greatly revised & improved .com site will be available

We have built a large loyal customer base (275,000 Positive feedbacks on eBay) and have been serving some customers since the day we first opened, so we must be doing something right. We appreciate that we are nothing without our customers; therefore customer satisfaction is very important to us. You can purchase from us with confidence, secure in the knowledge that you will receive a square deal, if you’re not happy then neither are we, we pride ourselves on getting it right!

Payment policy

Paypal is the simplest way to pay, we have taken the decision to no longer accept payments by cheque, even from UK banks, due to the clearing time and the delays caused by that process when every other aspect of the business is almost instantaneous. Credit Debit Cards payment can be taken on line. We are an internet built business, and in line with other retailers, have to move with the times. Overseas cheques are not acceptable as they incur high fees when banked. Money transfer and postal orders etc are acceptable. If in doubt contact us, contact details on our ‘me’ page.

Delivery information

Items are sent by Royal Mail or Courier. Shipping costs include secure packaging and wrapping. Items sent by Royal Mail go 2nd class unless a customer requests something different. (This will incur additional postal costs). Please allow extra delivery time at weekends, bank holidays, Christmas etc. Overseas buyers please check shipping costs, especially if you are purchasing a large/heavy item before bidding. Anything over 2kg can be very expensive to ship. If a number of items are being shipped overseas and in total the weight is more that 2kg, we can split the items into two or more parcels, which may help keep the shipping costs down.

Return policy

Sometimes problems occur withal of our branded products; this is unavoidable given the vast quantities we sell. We will do our best to get a replacement to you as quickly as possible on receipt of the faulty item. Some items can be replaced directly from the manufacturer and it is quite often the case that it is quicker to take advantage of that option. The following contact numbers may be useful

If something goes wrong you will not be out of pocket. We cover Royal Mail 2nd Class return postage costs, as well as sending you a replacement if applicable; otherwise we will offer a full refund. We ask all customers to contact us if they are not happy, we will resolve all and any problem. There should never be any need to leave us poor feedback; we are an honest and fair company.

Customer satisfaction

Once you have made a purchase the item will be shipped the same day (if paid for): if it is purchased late in the day it will not be shipped until the following day. This does not apply at weekends, bank holidays etc when the Post Office and Courier services are closed. If in the unlikely event something goes wrong we will sort the problem to your satisfaction. Unfortunately we have no control over the post office or Couriers. However if they loose or damage an item we will see that you do not suffer any loss, we will then take the matter up with them.
